From 1953 to 2023 – 70 years of ZIEGLER vehicle construction
Adelberg fire department receives first ZIEGLER KLF of 1953
The first firefighting vehicle that ZIEGLER ever produced and delivered - a KLF on Opel Blitz chassis – was bought by the Adelberg fire department in 1955 after its completion in 1953. This not only marked the start of the construction of firefighting vehicles at ZIEGLER, but also the beginning of a long-standing, loyal partnership between ZIEGLER and the Adelberg fire department.
To this day, the municipality of Adelberg has relied exclusively on the reliability and quality of ZIEGLER vehicles for its fire department in the district of Göppingen. This impressive chronicle can be found in the press release.
The highlight of this long-standing alliance took place on November 30th, 2023, when a new, state-of-the-art HLF 10 on a Mercedes-Benz Atego chassis was officially handed over to the Adelberg fire department. This handover took place in a special way: The joint partnership was duly celebrated at a joint veal sausage breakfast in Giengen/Brenz in Swabia, the headquarters of ZIEGLER Group.
This very first vehicle that ZIEGLER ever delivered is now back in the company's possession and can be viewed as an exhibit in the in-house historical exhibition. Of course, Albert Ziegler GmbH did not miss the opportunity to compare the two vehicles directly: The highlight of the handover was the direct comparison of the 70-year-old KLF and the new HLF.
Over the past 70 years, the tasks of fire departments have evolved considerably and ZIEGLER has always kept pace. ALPAS is already built in the third generation and the innovative Z-Control enables fire departments to operate their vehicles quickly, easily and safely - even in stressful situations.
