In 2017, ZIEGLER delivered a large-scale series of 152 identical PSV 12000 vehicles.
The firefighting vehicle "Geräterüst" is a vehicle for technical assistance and to support operations. On military training areas or in underground facilities, it is used in conjunction with a firefighting vehicle, such as a "Fl-Kfz building fire". At air bases, the Fw-RW equipment" is often used in combination with the Fl-Kfz medium or heavy vehicles.
The vehicle, manned by a crew of 1+2, has a comprehensive range of equipment, including a rescue kit for technical assistance, lifting and sealing bags, a grab hoist, a plasma cutter and an oxyacetylene welder. Materials for oil damage prevention and a rescue platform for loading are also included. An auxiliary drive enables power to be generated via a built-in generator. The vehicle is also equipped with a pneumatically extendable light mast and a cable winch.
Vehicles of the type Fl-Kfz Gebäudebrand are primarily used for fighting building fires. With all-wheel drive, single tires and semi-automated manual transmission, the vehicles can also be used off paved roads and are suitable for use on vegetation fires, for example. The built-in centrifugal fire pump allows pump and roll operation, so that extinguishing agent can also be discharged while driving. The extinguishing agent can be discharged either via the remote-controlled roof turret, the rapid intervention system, the pressure outlets or the self-protection system. Depending on the equipment, extinguishing agent quantities of over 3,000 l can be discharged from this vehicle type.
A pneumatically extendable light mast is installed at the rear for optimum illumination, e.g. for technical assistance. The vehicle also has a permanently installed 9 kVA power generator to generate electricity.
A total of 184 "Fl-Kfz Gebäudebrand" and "Fw-RW Geräterüst" vehicles were delivered between 2004 and 2019.
The vehicles specially designed for forest fires are ideal for operations in rough terrain thanks to their extreme off-road mobility. As a result, these vehicles are increasingly used for forest and wildland fires. The special equipment includes heat-protection coated cables and a self-protection system, which ensure that the safety of the crew and the functionality of the vehicle are guaranteed even at high temperatures (e.g. during wildfires). An underride guard also protects the vehicle from damage when driving over objects.
The roof hatch allows the roof turret to be operated while wearing breathing protection, even in smoky or hazardous environments. Large quantities of extinguishing water and foam compound ensure that maximum extinguishing power is available even during longer operations. For rescue and recovery operations, the vehicles also have a cable winch on the front of the vehicle
A total of 64 "Fl-Kfz Waldbrand" vehicles were delivered between 2004 and 2013.
ZIEGLER RW-Crane rescue vehicles are designed for heavy-duty technical rescue operations. The extensive load, the built-in generator, the cable winch at the front of the vehicle and of course the crane installed at the rear make this vehicle type multifunctional – whether for rescue operations, traffic accidents or natural disasters. The superstructure can be built on an MB Arocs 3342 6×6 chassis, for example, which gives the vehicles an engine output of 421 HP. The Z-Cab ensures the safety of the crew during operations.
In 2022, a total of 5 RW crane vehicles were delivered to a customer in the MENA region.
The design of the ZIEGLER Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting vehicles has proven itself at many international airports for decades.
The ZIEGLER Z6 is ideally suited for all airport categories. The equipment compartment volume is ideal for accommodating equipment for category 10 airports. Extinguishing agent volumes of 12,500 l of water, 1,500 l of foam compound and 250 kg of powder ensure extreme extinguishing power in all operational scenarios.
The vehicle is built on a 770 HP TITAN 6×6 chassis. The innovative continuously variable transmission achieves top acceleration and top speeds of up to 120 km/h. With the newly developed ZT 6000 roof turret, the extinguishing agent can be discharged at up to 6,000 l per minute.
In 2022, 8 FLF 80/125-15+250P vehicles were delivered to a customer in the MENA region.
The Z-Class (Fl-Kfz schwer, Flugplatz) is a highly specialized unit for air readiness and designed for a variety of tactical deployment scenarios, primarily for operations on the airfield.
Equipped with a V12 diesel engine of 735 kW (1,000 HP) and an 8×8 drive for excellent off-road mobility, the vehicle reaches a top speed of 135 km/h and a climbing ability of around 45 %.
The powerful FPN 10-10000 1A centrifugal fire pump, which uses water and foam for effective firefighting, can be operated while the vehicle is in motion (pump & roll). This enables the emergency crews to react flexibly to changing operating conditions and be on site quickly.
The extinguishing agent tank holds 12,500 l of water and the foam tank 1,500 l. A roof turret (type EL 676 from Alco) provides 3,000 l/min at 10 bar in water and foam mode with throw ranges of up to 95 m (water) and 85 m (foam).
In the years 1997 - 2005, a total of 16 vehicles of the type "Fl-Kfz Flugplatz, schwer" (Lot 1) were delivered on a MAN X36 chassis.
This was followed in 2010 by a further 8 vehicles of the type "Fl-Kfz Flugplatz, schwer" (Lot 2) on a MAN X31 chassis.
Vehicles of the type "Fl-Kfz mittel, Flugplatz" can be used not only for firefighting in the event of air accidents, but also for pumping extinguishing water over long distances.
It carries 6,000 l of water, 600 l of foam concentrate, 500 kg of extinguishing powder and 120 kg of CO2 as extinguishing agents. This means that all possible scenarios involving fires on aircraft can be effectively combated. The built-in roof turret with a range of up to 65 m and a maximum output of 2,400 l/min and the front turret with a range of up to 50 m and a maximum output of 1,000 l/min can be used to extinguish fires. For the self-protection of the vehicles, 3 sprinkler nozzles are fitted at the front and 4 at the rear to prevent the ground in the immediate vicinity of the vehicle from catching fire or spreading to the vehicle. The crew of 1+3 can be accommodated in the spacious and proven crew cabin.
ZIEGLER delivered a total of 85 of these vehicles between 2008 and 2016.
Built on an OEM chassis, the "Advancer" vehicle type is robust and efficient in use at airports worldwide. With a water tank capacity of 10,000 l and a foam compound tank of 2,000 l, the vehicle is ideally equipped for firefighting.
The built-in centrifugal fire pump is designed for pump and roll operations. This means that extinguishing agent can also be discharged while the vehicle is in motion. The extinguishing agent can be discharged either via the remote-controlled roof or front turret, the rapid intervention system, the pressure outlets and the self-protection system. Depending on requirements, the "Advancer" vehicles can also be configured with a powder extinguishing system.
The vehicle is equipped with a pneumatically extendable light mast for optimum illumination, e.g. for technical assistance.
Our modernization program allows long-serving ZIEGLER vehicles a "second life". If required, we integrate technological innovations and state-of-the-art technology to bring older vehicles up to the latest standards in terms of functionality, comfort and safety. This means that even vehicles that have already been in use for several years are once again equipped for current and possibly changed operational requirements.
One example is the FAUN Fl-Kfz 3500, which underwent a general overhaul after around 30 years, including the chassis. After the general overhaul, these vehicles were used again at various locations.
